Microsoft increases event audience 78x, attracts 1.8 million live views
Microsoft Ignite – one of the biggest and most well-known tech conferences in the US – brings together IT professionals every year for a week of events focused on the technology of today and the applications that will shape the future.
More than 23,000 IT pros joined the Microsoft team in Atlanta in September to learn about some of the latest breakthroughs in security, intelligence and the cloud — the digital infrastructure that allows businesses to unlock their innovation potential.
Microsoft partnered with AmpLive to drive live views for the five-day event, driving 1.8 million video views with an average view time of 8 min 50 seconds.
The event’s 800 hours of content drew a 12% engagement rate, 4x better than industry averages.
In addition to broadening reach for the entire event, the Microsoft team leveraged AmpLive’s unique ability to micro segment its targeting to drive views from specific audiences. In this case, Microsoft wanted to increase viewership of the breakout session during the Machine Learning & Data Science Summit. Those sessions saw a 9% engagement rate – 3x the industry average – across 995,295 video views and an average view time of nearly 8 minutes.
